19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev won his first trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging period, achieving just one match at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.

His varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Currently training with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents his first title since the Rome competition and initial on a hard court from spring of 2023.

Victory also signifies he has secured twenty-one championships at 21 different competitions.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is particularly special," stated world number 14 Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

His counter-punching approach and recurring reactions on the playing surface had prompted observers to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.

Yet the player has made changes in the past month, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.

Both players traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden professional title, took control to force a decider.

The opponent defended 4 early break points in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner clinched the title with a point at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
